The code is static and free, with no account needed. It does not expire, and it opens your profile for as long as your profile link works. It works for the platform under either name: old twitter.com profile links encode just as well as x.com ones. What an X QR code does

• Opens your profile: the code carries your profile link, such as x.com/yourname.
• Works from a handle: type your username without the @. Pasting a profile link works too, x.com or twitter.com.
• Takes post links: paste the link of 1 post and the code opens that post instead.
• Stays fixed: the printed code always opens the address you set. Change your username and that address changes, so the old code no longer finds you.

Get your username or a post link from X

Your username, also called your handle, is the name that starts with @. X says it appears in your profile URL, so it is all the generator needs.

1. Open your profile in the X app or on x.com.
2. Find your username: the name that starts with @.
3. Type it into the generator above, without the @. Or paste your profile’s address from the browser, such as x.com/yourname.

To open 1 post instead of your profile, follow X’s steps for a post’s link:

1. Go to the post.
2. Tap the share icon, then Share Post via.
3. Select Copy link to Post.
4. Paste the link into the generator above.

1. In the top menu, tap your profile icon.
2. Tap the QR code icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
3. To share it, tap the share icon, then Save photo, Post photo or Share via.

How to create it

1. Enter your handle: without the @, in the field above, or paste your profile link. To promote 1 post, paste its link instead.
2. Check the preview: scan it with your own phone and confirm the right profile or post opens.
3. Style it: the X logo sits in the center by default. Change the colors, upload your own logo, and add a label: “Scan to follow us” comes ready, or type your own, such as “Follow on X”. For a sign or a card, turn on Make a printable design: a poster or a business card with the headline “Follow us on X”, which you can edit.
4. Download: PNG at 4096 px for print (3000 px on an iPhone or iPad), JPG for screens, SVG at any size. With a printable poster or business card on, you get a PDF sized for print in place of the SVG.

Scan test on 2 phones before printing. A static code cannot be edited later, so check the handle first, or keep a dynamic version in a free QRplify account and print that one.

Tips for reliable scans

• Label the action: “Follow for daily threads” gives a reason to scan.
• Keep contrast high: dark on light is the safe choice. The generator warns you when contrast is low or the code is lighter than its background.
• Keep the quiet zone: leave clear space around the code.
• Slides need size: a code on screen gets scanned from the back row; make it big.
• Make a giveaway real: the printable Offer design starts with “Follow & win” and “Terms apply”. Replace both with your real prize and terms, or pick another design, and read X’s promotion rules below.

X rules to know before you print

• Usernames: up to 15 characters, using only letters, numbers and the _ symbol, with no spaces, dashes or other symbols. The generator warns about spaces only, so check the rest before you print.
• A new username means a new link. Your username appears in your profile URL, and X says changing it makes your previous X QR code invalid. X also says the change frees your old username at once, so someone else can claim it. A printed static code keeps the old address, so make a new code, or print a dynamic code you can update.
• Deactivated and inactive accounts: after you deactivate an account, X keeps its username for 30 days, then it is available for use on another account. X also asks you to log in at least every 30 days, and says accounts may be permanently removed due to prolonged inactivity.
• Protected posts: public posts, the default, are visible to anyone, whether or not they have an X account. If you protect your posts, new followers send a request you approve or deny, and only your followers see your posts, including links to them. To let anyone who scans read your posts, keep them public.
• Giveaways: X’s Guidelines for Promotions ask for a rule that anyone using multiple accounts to enter is ineligible. They also ask you not to reward posting the same thing again and again, such as a prize for the most reposts. X recommends a rule against multiple entries in a single day, and asking entrants to mention you so you see every entry. Your contest must comply with applicable laws, which X says is your responsibility.
