Your Venmo QR code is already in the app

Venmo gives every profile its own QR code, called Venmo me. Venmo's help says it helps people find and pay your profile, and that another person can scan it with their Venmo app or their device camera. Start there: for most people it is all they need.

This page covers where to find that code, how people scan it, and the few cases where a code made with this Venmo QR code generator adds something.

Find your Venmo me code

  1. Open the Me tab: in the Venmo app.
  2. Tap the QR code button: on your profile picture.
  3. Tap Venmo me: your code shows on screen, ready to scan.

To send it, tap the share button: Venmo's help lists email, text messages and more. A business profile has its own route: tap Charge, then QR Code, then Venmo Me, and tap the printer icon to download a high quality PDF to print.

How people scan it

  • With the Venmo app: they open Venmo and tap Scan at the top of the screen. Centering the camera over the code opens your profile, with no tap needed.
  • With the phone camera: Venmo's help says the device camera scans a Venmo me code too, and it takes the person to your profile.
  • From a saved image: when someone has your code as a picture, the photo icon at the bottom of Venmo's scanner opens it.

Venmo needs access to the camera to scan, and the phone's settings turn that access on.

Print Venmo me, not Show to pay

Venmo's help describes 2 personal codes. Venmo me helps others find and pay your profile, so it is the one to print. Show to pay is for paying with Venmo in stores at participating businesses. It is your code for paying, so keep it off signs and flyers.

When a code made here helps

A code made here is a separate QR code holding a link to your Venmo profile. It is not Venmo's own code. We tested that link over plain HTTP on 9 October 2026: https://venmo.com/u/ followed by a username returned that account's profile page, and a username that does not exist returned a not found page.

  • The code sits in your own design: a sign, a menu or a flyer with your colors and a frame label such as "Pay with Venmo".
  • You may switch apps later: a dynamic code can point at your Venmo profile now and at another payment page later, without reprinting.
  • You want scan counts: a dynamic code on a free account records when, where and on what device people scan.

A free QRplify account adds 1 dynamic QR code with 1,000 scans a month, and it never pauses. The static code above needs no account at all.

Before you print

  • Username changes: Venmo lets you change your username under Me, Settings, Account, then Profile. A code made here keeps the username it was made with, so after a change, make a new code or repoint a dynamic one.
  • Print your username under the code: payers can check the name on their screen matches your sign before they send money.
  • Check unattended signs: look now and then for a sticker someone has pasted over your code.
  • Test from another phone: scan with a phone that is not yours, the way a customer would.

Where Venmo QR codes work best

  • Market stalls and pop ups: a counter card beside the till.
  • Tips: a tip jar, a delivery bag or a busker's case.
  • Services: tutors, dog walkers, cleaners and trainers on flyers and invoices.
  • Clubs and teams: dues, bake sales and shared costs.

How to create it

  1. Build the link: https://venmo.com/u/ followed by your Venmo username, then open it on your phone and check it shows your own profile.
  2. Paste it: into the field above.
  3. Style it: your colors and a frame label such as "Pay with Venmo".
  4. Download and test: SVG for print, PNG for screens, then scan it on 2 phones.
